100% Live, probiotic slime, oozed directly into magnetic tape. No overdubs, no automation, and no plugins were used in the making of this record!

In spring of 2022 Forrest found himself in Oakland with some free time after finishing some drum tracking for his former band Covet at Sharkbite Studios. He set up a rehearsal space down the hall and invited Bob to come through with his baritone guitar and a rat’s nest of effects pedals. What resulted was a grimy, slimy, live-looping improvisational jam characterized by constant morphing of meter and tempo. A couple days later, Bob called up Forrest and said “hey, that shit sounded pretty gross, do you want to come record it to tape at Cole’s place?” And so we did. We filled two 25 minute reels with the foulest riffs we could conjure up in the moment, stopping when Bob broke a string. We spit the raw multitracks out of Cole’s Otari Mx5050 Mkiii-8 tape machine into a DAW, edited the session down to the tastiest bits, and flew it all back into a Studer 269 mixing console to mix in real time while also performing effects throws with a Hologram Microcosm and a Roland Space Echo.

This was not what I expected! I thought this was a pop group (first time hearing this band) but I had to eat my hat because my assumption was so wrong.
